What is G-Cloud?
G-Cloud is a framework set up by the UK Government and managed by
the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) that enables UK public sector organisations, including charities, to select and procure accredited cloud products and services. As the name implies it is intended to make the purchasing of cloud-based services simpler and more predictable.
Benefits of the G-Cloud framework include:
- The application process creates a fair competitive landscape for all organisations regardless of size, history, or sector
- Buyers can easily search for the solutions they’re looking for through an accessible Digital Marketplace
- Customers know that the cloud solutions or services offered from accredited vendors meet a baseline of security, technical, ethical, and service requirements. Therefore, buyers don’t need to go through standard evaluations themselves
- The procurement process is faster and therefore, less expensive
With more than £9bn spent through the G-Cloud framework since its formation in 2012, G-Cloud 12 avoids the need for time consuming tenders as all the terms have been agreed in advance between the likes of ISN selling a solution and Crown Commercial Services.
By expanding our range of services on G-Cloud 12, ISN have simplified the process for our public sector customers to buy from us, saving both parties wasted time on contractual negotiations and lengthy approval processes.
