Keeping up to speed with the latest technology advances and thought leadership
Cisco Live in Barcelona kicked off yesterday and I’m here taking it all in. This is always a good conference for learning about the latest technology advances in the world of networking, security, data centres and unified communications to name a few. Cisco Live delivers education, connection and inspiration to technology enthusiasts. Given how central Cisco is to modern business, Cisco Live is far from being just an opportunity to show off a new router or whatever. There are always a multitude of hardware and software vendors – over 150 this year – showing off their latest technologies and demonstrating how it can address customers’ needs. In addition, there are over 700 education and training sessions, plus talks from today’s IT visionary thought leaders. Yesterday was all about the Security Partner Day. I met with some of our key contacts within Cisco and heard the latest updates about their security offerings and how these might affect partners like us. The Security Partner Day agenda included:
- Keynote: Cybersecurity in the digital world
- Panel Discussion: Cisco Talos comprehensive threat intelligence
- The Future of the Cybersecurity threat landscape
- Breach readiness – Endpoint detection and response
- European regulations and cybersecurity
- Network visibility and security as the enabler
- Apple and Cisco launch
