Radiology Information System (RIS)

risYou can manage your workflows with the web-based Radiology Information System (RIS) and experience the value of integrating your institute’s healthcare systems.

RIS focuses on the workflow of the radiology department. With this solution in place, you can enhance patient care by controlling and automating your workflow, step by step.

Improve efficiencies

The fully web-based RIS makes radiology departments more effective and efficient through complete electronic management of patient information.

The RIS streamlines radiological workflow, providing optimal access to all relevant patient data. Diagnostic data can easily be shared over the internet, enabling optimal access of existing imaging resources. The complete patient profile, personal work lists and clinical reports are all available in real time, allowing all involved hospital employees to work together more effectively.

With RIS, you can enable paperless patient care with individual modules. You can enter the patient’s data in the registration module manually or by automatically querying the Hospital Information System (HIS). Your staff can schedule the patient’s appointment with the automated scheduling module.

The solution also enables you to easily process a patient’s arrival at reception and progress the request to the imaging department. The radiographer is notified of the patient’s arrival and can proceed with the examination. The radiologist can then produce completed studies and dictate for the patient case.

Faster results

An advanced communication function optimises the flow of communication between radiographer and radiologist, increasing workflow efficiencies and enabling quicker decision-making on patient examinations and treatments. When the completed cases are sent to the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), the full PACS integration allows the radiologist to retrieve them and start dictation immediately using the dictation module. A personal work list provides the radiologist valuable insight into the cases, which are then available to read.

The radiologist can use a speech-recognition system to record their findings and create a report. On ending the dictation, the report is ready to be converted to text using the transcription module.

After verification, the report can be further processed, printed, emailed or forwarded to other healthcare systems, using standard communication protocols.

All processes and user interactions throughout the workflow are traced and recorded, so you can quickly and easily extract management information.

With RIS, you will benefit from:

  • Instant, web-based access
  • Workflow management
  • HL7 compliance
  • Secure data transfer and storage
  • Improved efficiencies
  • Strong governance and management of reports
  • Versatility
  • Ease of use
  • Multi-language support
  • Advanced functionality
