In September 2012 Microsoft announced that Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) was being discontinued. Microsoft are still providing mainstream support for TMG until April 14th 2015 and extended support until April 14th 2020. Since this announcement people have sparked debate over which product to choose when considering replacement of the now discontinued TMG.
The obvious answer for some has been the Microsoft’s Unified Access Gateway, however with the news that Microsoft will be releasing no further updates for this from July 2014, the question still remains around the most suitable replacement for TMG.
