ISN plays its parting IHE-UK interoperability demonstration
Date: December issue 2015
The IHE-UK stand at EHI Live, NEC 4-5th November, attracted considerable interest from delegates looking to see interoperability in action.
This year’s showcase demonstration featured seven organisations, including Canon (previously known as Rogan-Delft), each playing an actor / unique role in the scenario that depicted the seamless movement of images, documents and information between organisations.
Canon software played three pivotal roles in the demonstration as an XDS Repository, an ATNA repository (Audit Trail and Node Authentication – related to security policy) and a Content Consumer – Canon Zillion™ Portal; thereby linking with other participating organisations these included Philips Medical Systems, InterSystems, Lexmark Healthcare, PACSHealth, Medical Connections and Tiani Spirit.
The interoperability demonstration was attended by over 150 delegates during the two day show and Dirco van Norden, Canon technical specialist and present throughout overseeing the Canon participation, was delighted with how the solutions performed. “We have participated in the IHE-Europe Connectathons over a number of years and the resulting successful participation enables us to take part in these demonstrations of interoperability to our clients across Europe.”
Kieran Archer, Chairman of Intuitive Systems & Networks Ltd – ISN – are Canon UK’s arm for the design, maintenance and support of medical IT systems, including Canon PACS and RIS – commented, “It was a privilege for Canon / ISN to have the opportunity to participate in this prestigious show and play a key part in the interoperability demonstration. Not only does it show our customers and potential customers that we are confident in our products and solutions to invest and undertake this activity publically, it also enables us to say to those looking to consider Canon / ISN for their PACS and / or RIS solutions that Canon products are state of the art in their compliance to appropriate standards and protocols such as IHE, HL7 and DICOM.
